Technical Information

INSTALLATION METHOD:

  1. Begin laying planks from the starting wall and work to the opposing side. The tongue side of the plank should face the starting wall.
  2. Place ¼” (6.35 mm) spacers between the short and long side of the planks and the wall. Always position one spacer between the wall and where the planks join.
  3. The end joints of the planks in the first row are assembled by inserting the tongue side into the groove side of the previous plank at a low angle. Gradually lower the plank down flat until the end joint closes ensuring that the plank is perfectly aligned. Install remaining full planks in the first row.
  4. The last plank in the first row will need to be cut. Measure the distance between the wall and the surface of the last full plank.Subtract¼ “(6.35mm) from this measurement to allow for the spacer. If this measurement is less than 6" (15.24cm), the length of the first plank in the row must be cut. The first and last plank in each row must be at least 6" (15.24cm) in length. Planks are cut using a sharp utility knife and a square. Score the surface of the plank with a utility knife, and then snap the plank at the score line.
  5. The remaining piece cut off from the last plank in the first row may serve as the first plank in the second row, provided it is at least 6"(15.24cm) long. Always stagger end joints a minimum of 6"(15.24 cm) apart from row to row to maintain a random look for plank.
  6. Install the long side of the first plank of the second row. Remember to place a¼”(6.35mm) space between the wall and the short side of the plank. Insert the tongue side into the groove side of the previous row at allowed angle and lower flat to the substrate.
  7. Install the second plank of the second row. Position the long side of the plank/tile with the tongue side overlapping the groove of the planks in the previous row approximately 1/8" (3.175mm). Then, angle the end joint into the previous plank. Angle the plank up and gently push forward until the plank locks into the previous row. Continue installing remaining planks in the second row. It is important to make sure that the first two rows are straight and square as they can affect the entire installation.
  8. Continue working side to side, row by row. Be sure to maintain a 1/4" (6.35 mm) space around all walls and vertical objects and maintain a random look for plank and a staggered look for tiles. End joints for plank a minimum of 6" (15.24cm) Remember to offset end joints a minimum of 6" (15.24 cm).
  9. After all planks have been installed, remove spacers from the perimeter of the room.
  10. Install transition moldings. Do not fasten any moldings through the flooring. Pre-drill and install quarter round or baseboard molding. Molding must be sufficient size to cover the 1/4" (6.35 mm) space and must be fastened to the wall, not to the flooring.
  11. Clean the floor with proper utilities.

Maintenance and Warranty

MAINTENANCE:-

DO'S:-

⮚ Wipe up household spills as soon as possible. Vinyl flooring is resilient, however, spills should still be cleaned up immediately. If the spill is left on the floor for a long period of time, you risk permanently staining the floor.

⮚ Use a doormat to keep out dirt. Grit and dirt that is tracked in from your shoes can act like sandpaper, removing the finish from your floor.

⮚ Protect your flooring from damaging furniture by using floor protectors. A good rule of thumb is that the heavier the item, the wider the floor protector is needed.

⮚ Rinse well to remove all the soap.

⮚ Wash your floor occasionally with a floor cleaner. Look for a neutral cleaner that isn’t too harsh.

⮚ Sweep, dust, or vacuum, your floor daily if needed.

⮚ When moving heavy pieces, you use a plywood sheeting path. If a piece of furniture, or an appliance, is too heavy to carry, you can use a plywood path to drag them. This will protect your flooring and make your move easier.

DONT'S:-

⮚ Never use a detergent that is abrasive. Vinegar or “mop and shine” products may leave a film on your film, rather than give you that shiny floor that you seek.

⮚ Never use a wax polish.

⮚ Never use an abrasive scrubbing tool on your floor. This can cause scratches and harm your flooring..

⮚ Never drench your vinyl with water. Water from an overly wet mop can destroy the glue bond that holds down the vinyl. This can cause the corners to curl and the vinyl floor to become loose.

⮚ Sharp edges can damage the surface of your vinyl floor. Instead, use chairs with felt tips, which won’t harm your vinyl.
