EPDM (Ethylene propylene Diene Monomer) is widely used as Safety Flooring at playgrounds to provide critical fall height protection for children on playgrounds. EPDM or Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer is an organic synthetic elastomer which has many properties equivalent to or better than those of natural virgin rubber, after curing. During the production of the elastomer, several additives are used to enhance colours and their stability. This assures that the colors are durable, flexible and can also stand the test of weather and time. All floorings are available in multi-color options, offering an amazing appeal and safety at the same time. EPDM flooring is extremely straightforward to install and even simpler to maintain. Technical Information
INSTALLATION METHOD:
❖ Ingredients for an EPDM Rubber Flooring.
The ideal thickness of EPDM Rubber Flooring is 36mm, consisting of Rubber Buffing of 30mm and EPDM Colored granules of 6mm.
❖ An EPDM Rubber Flooring has the following contents:-
● Rubber Buffing
● EPDM Colored Granules
● Binder
● Thinner
Preparing the Surface for EPDM Rubber Flooring
● As the saying goes “Cleanliness is next to Godliness”. Before conducting the task of laying EPDM Rubber Flooring, cleaning of the surface is essential. The proper steps are :-
⮚ Removal of debris.
⮚ Brooming the floor.
⮚ Cleaning the surface with water.
⮚ Keeping the surface dry
Application of Mixture.
● After the surface is cleaned and dried, a mixture of thinner and binder is applied on the surface.
Laying of Rubber Buffing
● The Rubber Buffing should be spread at equal portions and binder should be mixed properly to the Buffing. It is vital that the ratio of Binder to Rubber Buffing should be maintained. Otherwise the layer could be too hard or soft and may come out.
Design Marking
● Once the Rubber Buffing layer is semi dried, the desired design is marked with chalk. Design can be varied lines, waves, circles, flowers etc. The marking is important as different colored granules can be easily applied.
Application of EPDM Layer
● Once the design is chalked, chosen EPDM Granules are mixed thoroughly with Binder and laid as per the design. Again it is important to use the proper ratio of Granules and Binder. After the Colored Granules are laid, they are levelled with the tapping of wooden trowels and screed.
● After the work is complete, the flooring should be kept idle to dry for 4 to 5 days, depending on the weather.

Maintenance and Warranty
MAINTENANCE:-
DO'S:-
⮚ Thoroughly sweep or vacuum the floor to remove all loose dirt, dust and debris.
⮚ Apply a neutral cleaner to the floor with a mop (or automatic floor scrubber). Follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
⮚ Use a Wet Vac or mop to remove the cleaning solution.
⮚ Rinse the floor with clean, cold water. Remove all water with wet vac or mop.
⮚ Allow the rubber floor to dry thoroughly.
⮚ Sweep, dust, or vacuum, your floor daily if needed.
⮚ Do deep cleaning of flooring using water spray.
DONT'S:-
⮚ Never use a wax polish.
⮚ Never use an abrasive scrubbing tool on your floor. This can cause scratches and harm your flooring.
⮚ Never use a beater bar when vacuuming. This can cause damage to the floor surface.
⮚ DO NOT Use any oil-based detergents, wax cleaners, or sealants.
⮚ DO NOT Use agents that contain any dyes.
⮚ DO NOT Use steel wool pads, because the loose steel particles may cause rust stains in the grout.
⮚ Do not use gasoline, turpentine or acetone for spot removal.
⮚ DON’T allow yourself to walk ,run or play wearing hard sole footwear.
⮚ DON’T allow the garden mud to spill on the flooring.
⮚ Don’t allow any fabrication and carpentry work on the floor.
WARRANTY: 1 year for Colour fade.
MEASUREMENT METHOD &UNIT:
● STEP 1: Measure the area of the room. Use the tape measure to measure the length and then the width of the room , Making a note of measurements.
● STEP 2: Calculate the square footage.
● Step 3: Calculate amount of flooring needed.
